OCTOBER:
In celebration of National Coming Out Day (October 11th) we invite you to come together virtually to share stories of coming out. We will be screening 2 short films from the 2020 Muskoka Queer Film Festival, to help facilitate some of the discussion.
"The Noose" - A young man who struggles to come out to his friends and family must find his courage before it's too late. Directed by Matt Haley. "Coming Out" - This film examines how the assumption of heterosexuality in our society requires LGBTQ+ folks to come out, daily, presented in a comedic light. Directed by Breanne Williamson. This is not a politically corrected history; I will leave that to you.
When I was a child, I remember looking at old pictures my Mother kept in an old shoe box. These pictures told the history of my family. In the presentation I want to share with you, pictures will be used to tell the history of our Queer family. Our family dates back as far as you can imagine, although not defined until the 1800’s. There has always been people who formed relationships with people of the same gender. Facebook Event Link |
